Support and troubleshooting

Questions about the Simulator, bug reports, device requests, and project inquiries all go to one address.

contact@displayglasses.dev

Useful things to include in a bug report: the URL you loaded, the browser and version, and what you expected to happen. For a device request, the make and model of the glasses is enough.

Common issues

  • The application will not load. Most sites block embedding through X-Frame-Options: DENY or a restrictive Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors. Deploy your own application without those headers, or open it directly on the glasses.
  • It loads but looks washed out. The application is probably drawing on a light background. Additive light means white backgrounds flood the scene, so start from #000.
  • The QR code will not scan. Raise screen brightness and hold steady at roughly arm's length, then say "Hey Meta, scan this QR code".
  • Nothing renders over http. The Simulator is served over HTTPS, so embedded pages must be as well.

Feature and device requests

The Simulator models a category rather than a single product. Additional device profiles are added as hardware becomes available, and requests directly influence which ones come first. If you are building for a device that is not covered yet, write in.
